We chose the indoor seating although they do have a pleasant patio dining area.
Dwight’s menu choice was the brisket plate with sides of creamy coleslaw, fries, and Texas toast. The portion was substantial, and he said it was excellent. It is a favorite of several of our friends who have been to the Pedalin’ Pig numerous times and recommended the restaurant to us.
I gave the half rack of ribs a try, and I was not disappointed. I like my ribs moist, meaty and fall-of-the-bone tender, a combination that is hard to find in barbeque places. I also enjoyed the sauce which was not too sweet, and smoky, also my preference. I opted for sides of Mac & Cheese and Green Beans. They were also great. There was enough meat on the half-rack that I took half of it home for a wonderful sandwich the next day.
There were duplicate orders for the brisket, but one in our group decided on the pulled pork plate with sides of baked beans and a sweet potato. She was another satisfied customer. We really liked this barbeque place and when we return to Boone, NC, as we hope to do someday, it will be at the top of our list of great places to eat.
