We wanted to stay in Maggie Valley, and specifically we wanted to be close to the main thoroughfare, but away from the worst of the traffic.
Cross Creek RV Park – Maggie Valley was the perfect solution. It sits on Moody Farm Road which roughly parallels the main street of Maggie Valley. In fact the park sits just across the creek from the main street. It is a quiet park, has excellent wifi, and has good cable. The sites are gravel and most are quite level needing only minimal leveling for your unit. There is plenty of room between sites, the roads are wide and easy to negotiate, even for a big rig. The electric is good, and works flawlessly.
The park has a very nice laundry facility. It is also a pet friendly park and has an especially nice pet walk area. A walk around the park perimeter for exercise is about 1/3 of a mile. There is also a sidewalk walking area along Moody Farm Road that will let you extend your distance if you want longer walks. A stroll along the creek is also a pleasant excursion.
I was told that there are trout in the creek as well.
The staff is very friendly, helpful, quick to answer questions, not only about the park, but also about the area, offering many suggestions for drives, sightseeing, excursions, fishing, and the best restaurants. Jim (blue-green shirt) suggested a drive for us where he said we would probably see elk, and we did see them indeed.

We stayed 2 weeks this time around, and have reservtions for the fall. I highly recommend Cross Creek RV Park – Maggie Valley for any length of stay. The views from the campground of the surrounding mountains, pasture land, and the valley in general are pleasant and camping there is serene.
